WWII ~ Burying the Dead at Sea

Burying the dead at sea during World War II aboard the Liscombe Bay aircraft carrier in  November 1945.  How many war dead have tombstone markers in cemeteries back home?  I frequently see them when taking tombstone photos for Find-a-grave.
