People have loved photography since its inception.  Equipment and consumable costs were very expensive, but its value to families was so high that many people sacrificed some primary purchases so they could buy a camera.

Historians and genealogists everywhere thank them for their decision and for the photos of their family and the scenes from their lives that still survive today.
