Grandpa owned the oldest, wobbliest ladder imaginable. The steps would spin in their mounting holes and often would slide out of them, yet he used it like it was as well-built as a contractors ladder of today.
Is the gentleman below painting or hanging Christmas lights? He is painting. The image was replayed over and over in our neighborhood this week when the men hung Christmas lights on their homes, trees and shrubs.
Fortunately, even the worst ladder we used was of dramatically better construction than grandpa’s old homemade wooden step and slip.
