Grandpa Painting and Hanging Christmas Lights

Grandpa owned the oldest, wobbliest ladder imaginable.  The steps would spin in their mounting holes and often would slide out of them, yet he used it like it was as well-built as a contractors ladder of today.

Is the gentleman below painting or hanging Christmas lights?  He is painting.  The image was replayed over and over in our neighborhood this week when the men hung Christmas lights on their homes, trees and shrubs.

Fortunately, even the worst ladder we used was of dramatically better construction than grandpa’s old homemade wooden step and slip.

Family history research is a favored avenue of relaxation. It is a Sherlock-like activity that can continue almost anywhere at any time. By leveraging a lifetime involvement in technology, my research efforts have resulted in terabytes of ancestral data, earning me the moniker of Lineagekeeper. And yes - We are all related to Royalty.
