The Tombstone of Samuel Vowels

The tombstone of Samuel Vowels is found in the Alpine City Cemetery in Utah.  Samuel was the son of Samuel and Ann Webb Vowels in Somerset, England in March 1822.  He died in American Fork, Utah on 1 December 1898 and was buried a few miles north in Alpine.

Samuel was one of the tens of thousands of Mormon converts who left their home countries to move to Missouri and Utah in the mid-1800’s.
