If your ancestors lived in a fairly small community for a long time, you’ll quickly find
that you are related to ta large percentage of the folks in that area.
I found this to be true yet again when I started working on my ancestral families in East Hampton, New York. Volume 5 of the Records of the Town of East Hampton is almost like reading a family diary. If your family lived there too, you’ll think the same thing when you scan through its pages.
Volume 5 isn’t full of vital records, although there are some, but is is full of snippets from the lives of your family as seen through the eyes of the town council and clerk.
Once again, Thanks Google Books!
