Hanger Bay Scrub down ~ USS Ronald Reagan

We all know that aircraft carriers are huge.  It’s just that we don’t appreciate how large they are until we see an image of them that references something from our daily lives.

Witness the scrub down of a hanger bay aboard the USS Ronald Reagan CVN 76.  Note the men with brooms in the near field, the far field and beyond.

Do you have family members who served aboard a navy ship during their lives?  I suspect the Mayflower replica I’ve explored in Plymouth Harbor would easily fit in this bay if the masts were down.  It probably wouldn’t even seriously affect operations.
