We don’t read about the War of 1812 as much as that conflict warrants.  Genealogy Pictorial Guide to War of 1812researchers work hard to find records of their ancestors in the Civil War, World Wars I and Ii and subsequent wars, but not many think to find records of their ancestors involvement in the War of 1812.  

The Pictorial Field Book of the War of 1812 is one of my favorite books to recommend to them.  Its stories, facts and images quickly involve them in the story of the war.
