With a draft lottery numbers in the 360′s in successive years of being 1-A, I didn’t serve in the war in Vietnam. Many of my friends did. Many didn’t come home again.
It is hard to imagine the courage required to crawl into the tight confines of a Viet Cong tunnel knowing that someone was probably waiting to shoot you.
That may be the definition of claustrophobia. and bravery
