The USS Kitty Hawk is larger than many airports around the world. Until you have been near or onboard a ship of that size, even photos fail to adequately represent their massive presence.
The USS Kitty Hawk is seen in this photo with its deck full of sailors, pilots and aircraft from both the United States and Japan. The sailors are burly, tough guys. Don’t let their size in relation to the ship dissuade you from thinking otherwise. Even Uncle Jim in florescent green isn’t someone to fool with.
