Riding the Rails with Grandma

Urban residents fill their homes with exercise equipment in an effort to keep the pounds off and stay in good physical shape.

In days gone by, most of the nation were engaged in physical labor and the spread of the waist wasn’t an issue.

The young lady isn’t my grandmother, but she was probably someone’s grandmother.  She’s a model, but she looks great on the rail maintenance rocket.  Her heels wouldn’t serve her well on a day-long rail inspection route.

There was no need to purchase a rowing machine when you were astride this rig all day.  She didn’t even have a speed limit.  If you could pull the paddle at a 20 mph rate, then that was the speed limit.  If you could pull faster, then enjoy the ride.

About lineagekeeper

Family history research is a favored avenue of relaxation. It is a Sherlock-like activity that can continue almost anywhere at any time. By leveraging a lifetime involvement in technology, my research efforts have resulted in terabytes of ancestral data, earning me the moniker of Lineagekeeper. And yes - We are all related to Royalty.
