Early Dutch settlers in New York brought their excellent church recordkeeping skills
and tradition with them to early America. If your ancestors were part of the early Dutch settlers, you’ve undoubtedly said thanks to the record keepers many times in your mind.
In my own research, I’ve frequently found records about my ancestors in these church records that I would have had little hope of finding in the lives of other early immigrants.
The book, Records of the Reformed Dutch church of New Paltz, New York has been one of my favorites over the years.
Thanks to Google Books, it is online for all of to enjoy at any time of the day.
