Maine ~ A History

A number of the children of my Plymouth, Massachusetts ancestors migrated tomaine_history Maine in the 3rd and 4th generations of the families in America.

Tracing their descendant  lines has not been too unsurprising as to a fairly large degree, I’ve found that the same small population in Maine resulted in many families intermarrying over the generations.

It only took a little research on my New Hampshire and northern Massachusetts based lines to find that many of them found spouses in Maine

If you too have ancestral families in New England, a little research in their descendant lines will probably expose many family members from Maine too.

Thanks to Google Books, the book, Maine, a history by the Maine and American Historical Societies is online to read at any time.

About lineagekeeper

Family history research is a favored avenue of relaxation. It is a Sherlock-like activity that can continue almost anywhere at any time. By leveraging a lifetime involvement in technology, my research efforts have resulted in terabytes of ancestral data, earning me the moniker of Lineagekeeper. And yes - We are all related to Royalty.
