Parish Registers in England: Their History and Contents

Many researchers have spent hundreds If not thousands of hours looking throughParish_registers_in_England English Parish records for information about their ancestral families.  We are often stymied in our quest because the information we hoped to find wasn’t included in the record for some reason.

Fortunately, Edmond Chester Waters revised his earlier publication, Parish Registers in England: their history and contents with suggestion from a bed of illness.  His life long studies of the vagaries associated with English parish records was not lost thanks to his final literary effort.

Thanks to Google Books, we can read his work online when we have a question about most parish records, including the unique styles and inclusions by priests and and parish leaderships over the generations.
