When you made your income sharpening knives and scissors, you wanted you tools to be the best as evidenced in this hand paint design this foot powered sharpening wheel. Sharpening stones of that era were usually 12” to 14” in diameter, so we can see that the current stone has sharpened many knives already in its life.
