My wife and I both descend through Nathaniel and Mary Blacksol Merrill ofmerrill_genealogy Wherstead, England.  We have enjoyed telling our children that their parents are cousins, albeit 8th cousins.

We’ve found many resources to help us determine our Merrill ancestry. 

One of them has been the book, “Merrill Genealogy – Descendants of Barzilla Merrill 1764-1850” by Mary A. F. Allen Thrasher.

Thanks to Google Books, the book is online for us to enjoy 24-hours a day.
