Historical Occupation ~ Handy Van

Like us, our ancestors worked in many occupations to support themselves and their families.  Many of my ancestors were farmers but family supplemented their income selling ice that froze on the pond on their farm.  The pond was feed by a mountain stream that originated less than a mile from the farm.

While the sawing, storing and hauling ice was a lot of work, the effort required to motor The James Samson Handy Van  around London.  Advertised as the the placard, the Handy Van promised the cheapest, quickest deliveries.
