FamilySearch Wiki ~ Italy Languages

The FamilySearch Wiki is full of amazing genealogy research articles.  I haven’t had the need to research Italian records until recently while helping a fellow researcher get started in their Italian ancestral quest.

We immediately identified the need to improve our skills in reading Italian records.  A link on the Italy article took us to the Italy Language and Languages article.  The Language Aids and Italian Genealogical Word List sections got us started.

The rest of the article was equally helpful.

The article continues on with grammatical use, spelling and references to many more additional Resources.

A link near the beginning of the article took us to another article, Latin Genealogy Word List.  As hoped, it too was full of gold for newbie Italian researchers.

The Italian articles are just one more example of the wealth of knowledge waiting to be tapped on the FamilySearch Wiki.
