Suffragette Dies of her Injuries

Miss Emily Wilding Davison of London died of her injuries on 8 Jun 1913 when she tried to stop the Derby race while protesting the right to vote.

Apparently, she stepped in front of the racing horses not realizing they held her in little regard.  Her skull was fractured when she was struck by a horse and thrown across the tack.
