New Search Results on FamilySearch

Effective 22 July 2013, FamilySearch has changed the search results on the Search FamilySearch Records section of the site.   The new design presents not only The Records found in a search but also the Collections that contain results based on your search parameters.

Let’s look at an example.  I searched for David Drew in Massachusetts.  The search results under the new ‘Records’ tab include 1239 hits.

When I click on the Collections tab, I now see the list of FamilySearch Collections that contain information about David Drew’s in Massachusetts.

The presentation of the results in the new format is a great help to researchers both in readability and in the listing of the related FamilySearch Collections.

Search for your ancestors and give the the search results a try.  Hopefully, they will help you find records about your ancestors.

About lineagekeeper

Family history research is a favored avenue of relaxation. It is a Sherlock-like activity that can continue almost anywhere at any time. By leveraging a lifetime involvement in technology, my research efforts have resulted in terabytes of ancestral data, earning me the moniker of Lineagekeeper. And yes - We are all related to Royalty.
