Attack on Harper’s Ferry During the Civil War

Harper’s Ferry lies near my ancestors farm on the Upper Potomac River and it confluence with the Shenandoah River.

Known for John Brown’s raid on the Armory there in 1859 and for its role in the American Civil War, the name of the location was firmly cemented in historical records.
