From the book, "Loggieville...on the Miramichi", Stymiest, Carlyle W. W. and Fraser, James A.; Miramichi Press Ltd., Chatham, New Brunswick; 1963,and 2nd printing August 20, 1964.

Robert Loggie and his wife Margery Hay came from Speyside, Morayshire, Scotland, to the Miramichi River in 1799. He had been accustomed to fishing salmon at Spey Mouth and continued the same occupation on the Miramichi. Robert had several sons. Peter, John, Robert and George Loggie received among them a 160 acre grant in Napan, NB. Another son, Alexander, moved to Bay du Vin, NB. Robert Loggie and Margery Hay had four known children when they arrived from Scotland ...The original homestead was just east of the old Black Brook bridge near the river bank. On November 8th., 1834, Robert, George and Peter Loggie sold part of lot 6 to John T. and Phineas Williston for 30 (New Brunswick Currency)."

Unfortunately, the old bridge in Loggieville, NB is now gone. The old Loggie house still stands today on what was the original land grant (lot 6). It is still owned by the Loggie descendants.
