    Notes 
    • James moved his family moved from Pennsylvania to Nelson Co., Kentucky sometime between Mar 1784 and Oct 1786. He operated an Inn in Bardstown, at other times he was a potter, a tanner and a farmer. In 1806 the family moved to Harrison Co., Indiana. They settled on a farm just east of Corydon. James and his wife Mary are buried on the family farm. James had a twin brother George.
