      Ruth Stott Colvin, age 88, passed away October 29, 2004.She was born August 31, 1916, the daughter of F. Earl and Ida Fisher Stott, in Fillmore, Utah. She attended school in Fillmore and graduated from Millard High School. She lived in Meadow, Utah 3 years while attending high school. After graduation she lived with her aunt and uncle, Mr. and Mrs. Asael H. Fisher, in Provo and attended BYU.Ruth was employed as secretary at Provo High School for 2 years. She was secretary in several medical offices at the University of Minnesota for 9 months while her husband attended school there.

      Ruth married Harold Ashton Colvin 65 years ago on September 7, 1939, in the Manti Temple.She has been an active member of the LDS Church, serving as a Sunday School and MIA teacher, organist for her ward, and in the Primary organization.She was an MIA counselor and president, a Relief Society counselor and president, and an ordinance worker and clothing supervisor in the Provo Temple for 20 years. She served as a member of the Daughters of the Utah Pioneers and the Culturettes club for much of her life.She and her husband served 18 months in the Canada Calgary Mission.

      Ruth was a loving foster mother to 3 Lamanite children under the LDS Indian placement program.She also mothered 3 girls under the LDS Welfare Services organization.

      Ruth is survived by her husband, Harold A. Colvin, of Provo; 2 sons and 2 daughters: Nan (W. Marquess ?Dusty?) Hale of West Valley City, Dennis H. (Kathi) Colvin of Mapleton, J. Lee (Tera) Colvin of West Jordan, and Kaye (Warner) Woodworth of Provo; 15 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren. Her parents, 2 sisters and 2 brothers preceded her in death.

      Appreciation is extended to Spanish Fork Nursing and Rehab for their help with Ruth.

      Funeral services will be held Thursday, November 4, 2004 at 11:00 a.m. at the Pleasant View 1st Ward Chapel, 650 E. Stadium Ave., Provo. Friends may call Wednesday evening from 6-8 p.m. at Berg Mortuary of Provo, 185 E. Center Street, as well as Thursday morning at the church one hour prior to services. Interment will be in the Provo City Cemetery.
