    • The following is a copy of his [James Howard] agreement with his sister Elizabeth as to the division of the property left them by their grandfather, John Howard:

      James Howard and Elizabeth Howard, the surviving children of James Howard, deceased, being legally capable to act each for themselves, did on March the 12th, Anno Dom., 1710, agree upon a division of the real estate as followeth: The said James accepted for his part all the home land, being forty-five acres with the buildings thereupon, and half a lot of meadow in Flag meadow, allowing the said Elizabeth four pounds in money, and said James is to have also the share in the Cedar swamp, and said Elizabeth to have forty acres above the stone house, and the interest undivided land, as witness their hands and seals.
