  Notes	Funeral Services Held Last Week For Lewis Rowe Funeral services for Lewis E. Rowe, 74, of Pittsfield were held at 2 p.m. Saturday, Oct., 31 at Plattner chapel with Rev. R. P. White officiating. Internment was in West cemetery. Mr. Rowe, who had been in failing health for several years, died at 7 a.m. Thursday in Illini hospital. Lewis, son of Frank and Susan Semple Rowe, was born Dec. 27, 1889 in Beverly, N. J. He came here from Elgin with the Elgin Engine Turning Engraving Co., in March of 1921 and was foreman of the finishing department. When the factory left here in 1929, Lewis went to work as custodian at Pittsfield high school, which position he held for 15 years. Later, he was custodian of Moose lodge until his health began to fail two or three years ago. He was bedfast for 17 months and had been a patient at Couch nursing home the past 13 months. During his illness, Mrs. Rowe never missed a day, going to see him, most of the time walking to the nursing home. In 1921 he was married to Miss Faye Tippetts and they became the parents of three children: Ada Valencia who died in 1941; Betty Lou Robinson, who died in 1955, and Eva Ann, wife of Don Little of Pittsfield, who survive with the widow. Also surviving are eight grandchildren of Pittsfield, a daughter by a former marriage, Mrs George (Geraldine) Fox.

  Notes	Pike County Democrat Wednesday, December 6, 1922 Lewis Rowe and Miss Faye Tippetts, of this city, were married in Hannibal (actually it was Palmyra), just a year ago, but as Mr. Rowe had been divorced less than a year, their marriage was of course not a legal one in this state and on Thanksgiving Day they were married again, this time in this city by County Judge Capps, at his office. Mr. Rowe came here with the Elgin Turning Company and is a native of New Jersey. Both he and his bride are fine young people and have a host of friends who are glad that their marriage has now been made right and legal in both states.
