Myron Kiddle Obituary
Deseret News, The (Salt Lake City, UT) - Thursday, April 8, 2010
Salt Lake City UT United States
Myron Gerald Kiddle 1926 ~ 2010 Our beloved Dad, Papa, Great "Grandpa" passed away peacefully on Easter Sunday, April 4, 2010, fulfilling his lifelong dream to pass at home surrounded by family.
Myron was born on January 27, 1926 in Stirling, Alberta, Canada to Adelbert Joseph Kiddle and Bertha Leone Bennett. On December 5, 1947 he married the love of his life Joyce Farnsworth and they were later sealed for all eternity in the Salt Lake Temple.
Myron had a gigantic heart and loved to help anyone in need, especially family. On several occasions you could find him working steadily on a remodeling project at one of his children's homes. In addition to that he had a love for the garden that surpassed most. He prided himself in making sure his home was surrounded by a beautiful array of flowers, especially rose bushes. Often times you could find him asleep in his chair under the cherry tree after a long morning of cultivating. He would tell you "I wasn't asleep" and smile widely.
Myron served our country in both the Navy and the Army for almost five years during World War II. After he got out of the military he worked hard with his father doing construction for Horman Construction. Eventually he was promoted to Foreman and worked diligently for over 50 years, retiring as the super-intendant.
He is survived by three daughters and one son: Janet (Roy) Holman, Marilyn (Jim) Bentley, Carolyn (Wendall) Turner and Corey Kiddle . He also thoroughly enjoyed 10 grandchildren, eight great-grand-children and close family friends Lloyd Prescott and Rosalie Smith. He was preceded in death by his beloved Joyce, his parents and all of his siblings.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday, April 10, 2010 at 12 noon at the Rosecrest First Ward, 3101 South 2300 East. Friends may visit with the family on Friday evening from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at the Holbrook Mortuary, 3251 South 2300 East, and at the church on Saturday morning from 10:30 a.m. - 11:30 a.m. prior to services. Interment: Elysian Burial Gardens. Online memories or comments may be sent to the family at: www.holbrookmortuary.com
