  	Ronald Herbert Bate, 72, died Thursday, June 21, 1984, in American Fork. He was born Jan. 3, 1912 in American Fork to Elmer P. and Jennie Thornton Bate. On Dec. 3, 1932 he married Helen Elise Timpson in American Fork. He was owner and operator of Ron's Paint & Glass Co. for 30 years, and a former president of American Fork Jaycees. He was a member of the American Fork volunteer fire department for 35 years and served as assistant fire chief for four years. Surviving are his wife of American Fork; three sons: R. Dick Bate, American Fork; Robert T. Bate and R. Craig Bate, both of Denver, Colo.; six grandchildren; a great-grandchild; a sister, Mrs. John (Mildred) Van Dorn, Orem. Services will be Monday at 11 a.m. at the Anderson & Sons Mortuary Chapel, 49 E. 100 N., American Fork, where friends may call Sunday, 6-8 p.m., and Monday an hour prior to services. Burial will be in the American Fork Cemetery.
