  	Ronald Dick Bate Obituary Ronald "Dick" Bate, 74, passed away Tuesday, March 4, 2008. Dick was born Jan 30, 1934 in American Fork, UT. He was the eldest of three sons born to Ronald and Helen Bate. He attended BYU before joining the Navy, and becoming a pilot. After dating for just 10 short days, he married Rayetta Chayer Dec 26, 1957. They were married for 50 years. His Naval career spanned 24 years. His family enjoyed traveling to many foreign duty stations. In 1974 he graduated from the Naval Post Graduate School in Monterey, CA with a degree in political science. In 1976 he retired from the Navy at the rank of commander, and he and his family made their home in American Fork. He and Rayetta took ownership of Rons Glass and Paint from his parents, and later opened an Ace Hardware store. He was involved with the Chamber of Commerce and a member of Rotary International. Dick was preceded in death by his father, Ronald and brother, R. Craig (Colette). He is survived by his wife, Rayetta; two daughters, Kelly (Randy) Davenport, Lehi; Susan (Blair) Pendleton, CO Springs, CO; mother, Helen, America Fork; brother Bob (Duana), Scottsdale, AZ; five grandchildren, Deven, Gray, Lauren of Lehi and Emily and Erin of Colorado Springs. Funeral services will be held Saturday, March 8, 2008 at 2 p.m. at the Anderson & Sons Mortuary, 49 E. 100 N., American Fork. Friends may call at the mortuary Friday evening from 6-8 p.m. and Saturday from 12:45-1:45 p.m. prior to the services. Interment, American Fork Cemetery.
