- Obituary for George W. Gaddis
Thorntown, Indiana (G.W. GADDIS died December 1, 1915)
George W. GADDIS, the father of Charles GADDIS, the well-known traveling salesman, residing here, died last week at the home of his son, Jesse, in Lockesburg, Arkansas, in his 70th year.
He will be remembered by many of the older residents here as once the owner of the Reeves farm just south of town, which he sold to Frank Harris in 1870. He then went to Missouri, Kansas, and back to Illinois, where he lived a short time in each before returning to the vicinity south of town where he lived until his departure forArkansas about 30 years ago.
Another son lives at Vernon, Texas. The wife and mother of the three sons died about two years ago, since which time he lived with the son at Lockesburg.
