  Notes	Notes for JONATHAN THOMAS: Jonathan was a very early settler of Sanbornton, New Hampshire. He was said to have been a great hunter, and accustomed to pass his winters in the "upper country" in that capacity. His first residence in Sanbornton was in the depression of the land overlooking the brook that has since gone by his name -- "Thomas Brook." He moved to Canada and was last heard of as a "Scout or hunter" through the woods of Maine. Jonathan was a noted hunter and often passed his winters in the "up country" in hunting and trapping.
