  	Garth Griffin Merrill Obituary Garth Griffin Merrill 1930 - 2012 Garth Griffin Merrill, age 81, died May 10, 2012. Born December 2, 1930 in Clarkston, Utah, a son of DeMar Merrill and Gwennie Clow Griffin Merrill. Married Darlene Jane Wassmer October 29, 1960 in Taylorsville, Utah, later sealed in the Logan LDS Temple on March 3, 1966. Mr. Merrill graduated from Logan High School in 1949, attended USAC in Logan, Utah and BYU in Provo, Utah. He served four years in the Navy during the Korean War. He was employed at Mountain Fuel Supply for 30 years both in Salt Lake City, Utah and Ogden, Utah. He was an active member of the LDS Church and held the office of High Priest. Due to a heart attack and other health problems Mr. Merrill was forced to retire January 5, 1985. Mr. Merrill is survived by his wife Darlene Merrill and two daughters: Vicki Lynn Strate of Mt. Pleasant, Utah and Lori Merrill Martain of Salt Lake City, Utah, two sons: Robert Thomas Merrill and Rick Wassmer Merrill of Ogden, Utah, nine grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by one sister, Iris Merrill Young. A short graveside service will be held Tuesday, May 15, 2012 at 1:00 pm at the Elysian Burial Gardens located at 1075 East 4580 South, Salt Lake City, Utah where family and friends may attend.
