John Earl "Pop" Jacobs, 79, 492 S. 5th West, Lehi, died of natural causes April 23 at home. Born Dec. 21, 1889, Lehi, to Prime Coleman and Elinor Ashton Jacobs. Married Mary Ellen Butt April 1, 1913, Provo. Member LDS Church. Retired employee, Utah Power and Light Co. Survivors: Widow; sons, daughters, Chester E., Tooele; Richard J., South Gate, Calif.; Ralph B., Grand Junction, Colo.; Lynn E., Menan, Idaho; Tom K., Lehi; Ray, Mrs. LaVelle (Clara) Clements, both American Fork; Mrs. Earl (Thorban) Walker, Pleasant Grove; 19 grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; sisters, Jennie Wanlass, Salt Lake City; Ada Steed, Farmington; Blanch Turner, Lehi. Funeral Saturday, 2 p.m., Wing Mortuary Chapel, Lehi, where friends call Friday 7-9 p.m.; Saturday prior to services. Burial Lehi Cemetery.
