      Notes for RAYMOND WENDELL LICHTE: From Ray's obituary that ran in the Wisconsin State Journal and Lodi Enterprise:

      Raymond W. Lichte, age 79, died on Thursday, May 20, 1999, at the Waunakee Manor after a long period of failing health. He was born on December 17, 1919, to Carl and Margaret (Neill) Lichte on their Reynold's Road farm three miles west of Lodi. He was the last student to graduated from 8th grade at the Lovering Road School a short distance east of their farm. He graduated from Lodi High School in 1937 and attended the Ag Short Course at the University of Wisconsin in Madison. On February 19, 1944, Ray married the former Miriam Cook, and they farmed his home farm until 1983 when he retired, moving to Waunakee in 1989. For 12 years he served on the Lodi School Board ending in 1970, and was president of the board for 10 of thos 12 years. He also served on the West Point Town Board for two terms. He was a member of the Lodi Presbyterian Church and served as an elder for 22 years. He was also a charter member of East Central Breeders which later became South Central Breeders and eventually merged with Tri State Breeders. Ray is survived by his wife, Miriam Lichte; three children, Ed of Fort Worth, Texas, John (Wende) of Gainsville, Florida, and Judy (Dave) Kopp of Waunakee; as well as special family member, Mark (Leisa) Heimbecker who worked and lived with the Lichtes for 14 years; and nine grandchildren, Stephanie, Tim and Marcus Lichte, Luke and Dominique Lichte, Chris and Jordan Kopp, and Clint and Carly Heimbecker. He is also survived by a sister, Florence (Roy "Pat") Brown of Lodi, and their children who were very close to him, Jim (Marcia) Brown, Linda (Herb) Damsteegt) Tom (Liz) Brown, and Donna (Dave) Rimple. He was preceded in death by his parents; and a grandson, Andy Lichte. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, May 24, 1999, at the Lodi Presbyterian Church, with Rev. Glen Reichelderfer officiating. Interment will be at Mt. Pleasant Cemetery. Friends may call from 3:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. on Sunday, May 23, 1999, at the Hamre Funeral Home in Lodi. The family suggests memorials to the Lodi Presbyterian Church.
