This Indenture made this 27th day of June in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and thirty nine by and between Hiram Anderson and Mary his wife of the county of Clinton in the state of Ohio of the one part and Barton Johns of the county and state aforesaid of the other part Witnesseth that the said party of the one part for and in consideration of the just sum of fifteen hundred dollars to them in hand paid the receipt whereof we do hereby acknowledge hath given granted bargained sold released and conveyed and do by these presents give, grant, bargain, sell release, convey & confirm unto the said party of the second part and his heirs and assigns forever, all that tract or parcel of land situate and being in the county of Clinton in the state of Ohio, containing seventy-five acres being part of John Harvies Survey No 3342, and bounded as follows to wit: Beginning at a hickory the West corner to said survey thence S44 1/2
E175 8/10 poles to a stake a hickory bearing S64 E29 Links and elm N31 W19Links thence N18 1/4
E89 1/4 poles to a dogwood, thence N13 W46 poles to a red bud on the South bank of second creek thence N48 W18poles to a stake a white ash bearing N19 E15 links on the North bank of said creek, thence down said bank with the meanders therein N43 1/4 W11 1/2 poles to a white oak thence N841/2 W9 poles to a white oak, thence S65 W14 1/3 poles to a white oak thence N78 3/4 W 31 poles to a red oak thence S29 W16 3/4 poles to a white oak thence S 11 1/2 E16 poles to a white oak thence S45 W leaving the bank of said creek 7 8/10 poles to a stake thence N45 W47 poles to a white oak in the North west Boundary of said survey thence with the same S45 W33 1/2 poles to the beginning. To have and to hold the premises aforesaid, with all the privileges and appurtenances thereunto belonging or in any wise appertaining unto the said Barton Johns and unto his heirs and assigns forever. And the said Hiram Anderson and Mary his wife for themselves and for their heirs, executors and administrators covenant and promise to and with the said Barton Johns his heirs and assigns that they the said Hiram Anderson and Mary his wife are lawfully seized of the premises aforesaid, that they have good right and lawful authority to sell and convey the same in manner aforesaid and that the premises are free and clear of and from all encumbrances whatever And further that they the said Hiram Anderson and Mary his wife will well and truly warrant and forever defend the premises herein and hereby granted unto the said Barton Johns and to his heirs and assigns against the lawful claims and demands of all and every person whomsoever. In testimony whereof the said Hiram Anderson and Mary his wife party of the first part have hereunto set their hands and seals the day and year first above written.

On the 27th day of June A.D. 1839 before the subscriber a Justice of the peace within and for said county personally appeared Hiram Anderson and Mary his wife, who signed and sealed the foregoing deed and acknowledged the signing and sealing thereof to be their free and voluntary act and deed for the purposes therein expressed. And the said Mary Anderson wife of the said Hiram Anderson being by me examined separate and apart from her said husband, and the contents of said deed being fully made known to her by reading the same in her presence, she did declare upon such separate examination that she did voluntarily without fear or coercion of her husband sign seal and acknowledge the same and that she is still satisfied therewith. Given under my hand and seal the day and year aforesaid.
